Back To School: DIY notebook

By Rajini Coore

It’s that time of year again, filled with the scent of new books, pencils and broken dreams…back to school season.  If you aren’t already back at school you’re probably trying to enjoy the last two weeks of summer vacation.  We all know back to school is one of the less enjoyable times of year but hopefully these diy school supplies will make it less saddening.  Enjoy!

Materials

  • Plain notebook
  • Scrapbook paper or a drawing/ printout
  • Ruler
  • Scissors/exacto knife
  • Glue or double sided tape
  • Stickers
  • Markers

Step 1

Measure the cover of your notebook and cut an appropriately sized piece of scrapbook paper.  Leave about an inch on the longest side and a half inch on the shorter sides to create a smooth wraparound.

Step 2:

Using glue or tape, attach your paper  or artwork to the front of your notebook as carefully as possible.  Make sure all the edges are neatly tucked in and folded on the inside of the cover.  Tape these securely.

Step 3:

Decorate your notebook more using stickers or markers if you want or just leave it blank.  You can also glue on printouts or quotes.

 Here’s the finished product:
